HCM City provides treatment for over 2,300 Covid-19-infected children

HCM City’s medical facilities are providing treatment for 2,321 Covid-19-infected children aged below 16, according to the municipal Centre for Diseases Control and Prevention.

HCM City’s medical facilities are providing treatment for 2,321 Covid-19-infected children aged below 16, according to the municipal Centre for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC).

The centre said that the children are among 37,993 Covid-19 patients being treated in the city, including 2,697 who have to use ventilators and 20 others who need to use the Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) method.

On Thursday, 2,121 Covid-19 patients in HCM City were discharged from hospital, raising the city’s total number of patients released from the hospital to 97,719 since January 1 this year.

However, up to 16 Covid-19 spots in the city have remained complicated.

Each local ward has set up 2-3 mobile medical stations to support the Covid-19 treatment. The city has started using Molnipiravir medicine for patients with mild symptoms.

Around 62,904 Covid-19 patients are now undergoing home quarantine and treatment; meanwhile, the number is 15,854 at local quarantine sites.

By late Thursday, 5.74 million people in the city had been vaccinated against Covid-19, including 15,473 using Vero Cell vaccine and all of those being safe.
