Danang residents tested for Covid-19
State agencies can arrange a stay-at-work plan for a maximum of 10% of the staff at the offices. Factories can arrange a similar plan for 30% of workers. Firms that halt business during the social distancing period can arrange for three people to go to the office to deal with possible issues. The chairman of the Danang People's Committee will decide which construction sites can continue during this period.
Shippers can work from 6 am to 8 pm. They must have at least one vaccine shot and will be tested for Covid-19 once every three days.
High-risk areas will be in lockdown for at least 14 days. Residential clusters that do not have any Covid-19 cases for 14 days will be considered green areas by the district authorities.
Le Kim Phuong, director of Danang Department of Industry and Trade said before the social distancing period was applied, the local residents already stocked up food. However, the number of grocery orders still shot up during the weekends, causing some difficulties to the supermarkets.
The city has issued a VND71bn (USD3.1m) relief package to help the residents. VND25bn have been used to buy 50,000 gifts for people with difficult backgrounds. Each gift is worth VND500,000. The rest of the money will be allocated to local districts that are responsible for 92,064 households.
"The package will provide support to over 74% households in the city. Sun Group also donated 1,000 tonnes of vegetables," Phuong said. "We have called for young entrepreneurs associations to organise mobile grocery stores to residential clusters."
In the next 10 days, supermarkets and convenience stores can arrange a stay-at-work plan for up to 60% of their usual employees. Shippers will be prioritised in vaccination programmes and must wear protective suits while working. However, one of the biggest concerns is the lack of personnel to meet demands since the number of orders had increased 3-4 times compared to normal.
Ho Ky Minh, vice chairman of Danang People's Committee said the residents can order via the residential cluster's management boards or the shippers.
"We are planning to reopen Da Son Slaughterhouse. If the situation permits, we'll reopen Con Market and other wholesale markets. Each district will be able to reopen two to three markets," Minh said.
On August 24, Can Tho City authorities announced that they would extend the social distancing period from August 25 to September 8. Vinh Long Province will also extend the social distancing period for 10 more days from August 26 to September 4. Phu Yen Province will extend the social distancing period until the end of September 5.
