More than 1.1 million doses of the AstraZeneca Vaccine arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on Friday morning.

This is the eighth batch of the 30-million-dose contract ordered by Vietnam Vaccine Company (VNVC) from AstraZeneca.
With this additional batch, Vietnam has received a total of over 20.5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine from various sources including 9.2 million doses donated by COVAX Facility, over five million doses ordered by VNVC, and over 3.7 million doses donated by some countries.
According to the Ministry of Health, some 12 million more doses will be imported to the country in August and September, and a larger amount will arrive in the fourth quarter including about 47 million doses of Pfizer.
As of August 13, Vietnam has administered over 13.3 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine and about 1.1 million people have received two doses.
