At present, 58,000 people in HCM City are working in the health sector, including 20,000 people participating in Covid-19 prevention and control activities.

As many as 4,200 people from 44 hospitals nationwide and over 63,000 volunteers have arrived in the city to support the Covid-19 prevention and control activities in the area.

According to the HCM City Centre for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC), since April 27, HCM City has recorded 133,167 Covid-19 cases. Amid the rising Covid-19 patients, the city still needs around 12,000 additional medical staff for Covid-19 treatment, including 2,829 doctors.

The city has asked the Ministry of Health to mobilise medical staff from other localities to help its Covid-19 prevention and control activities, particularly those specialising in intensive treatment.

Since the social distancing time, HCM City has gotten assistance from different localities across the country. Phu Yen Province has just transported 15 tonnes of necessities to the city.

HCM City is even conducting Covid-19 vaccination for local residents in the evening to speed up the vaccination.
