A memorial service for people who die from Covid-19 held by the Ho Chi Minh City Command.
Under instructions from local authorities, Ho Chi Minh City Command has started receiving the ashes at Binh Hung Hoa Crematorium and taking them to the city Funeral Home for memorial services before sending the ashes to their families.

The families of dead Covid-19 patients can come to their district military command to receive the ashes of their family members, or they can be brought to their home by local authorities.
A resident in District 6 said, "I was very moved when receiving the ashes of my mother delivered to us. We’re in a quarantine site for Covid-19 prevention and heard that my mum had died from the virus. We were wondering how to claim her body for cremation but then were informed that authorities would help with this. We want to express our sincere thanks for their support."

According to an official of Binh Chanh District, Tran Van Xem, the district officials had received six urns of ashes of Covid-19 dead patients on August 8 and had been asked to deliver them to their families.
"If their families are staying in quarantined areas, we’ll send the ashes to a religious institution and they can receive them when they return home," he said.

Do Minh Thuy, who is in charge of sending the urns to different districts said they would bring them to their families so that they don't have to travel during the social distancing period unless people wanted to receive them at the headquarters of the district military command.
