Ha Tinh and Quang Tri to receive southern returnees

Authorities in Ha Tinh Province will organise five flights to help transport 1,000 low-income people home from the virus hotspots of HCM City and other southern provinces and cities.

Quang Tri provincial authorities had received 384 returnees

Two flights will be held on August 6, two flights on August 7 and one flight on August 8. Each flight will have 190 seats. Ha Tinh Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs is helping to review and build a list of the returnees.

Ha Tinh already arranged a train to carry 814 people home from the southern provinces. However, many people tested positive for Covid-19 afterwards.

In Quang Tri Province, the local authorities have also planned to transport about 400 low-income people home. A train will be arranged on August 11. It will stop at Saigon Station in HCM City, Di An Station in Binh Duong and Long Khanh Station in Dong Nai.

All of the returnees must be tested negative for Covid-19 within 72 hours prior to the departure.

People with sickness, from ethnic minority groups, pregnant women, people over 60 years old, children under 16 years old, students, tourists and people who are visiting relatives are prioritised.

Thousands of people have registered to return to Quang Tri. On July 29, Quang Tri provincial authorities received 384 returnees.

The provincial authorities have called for support for the people being stuck in HCM City.
