Despite the social distancing time for Covid-19 prevention, a group of seven people from An Giang Province still visited Dat Do Beach in An Thoi Ward at around 4 pm on Sunday. Five among them were swept away by waves. Local residents were able to rush out and saved four, while the other went missing.

However, two among the rescued four died, while two others were hospitalised.
According to Phan Quoc Thoi, chairman of An Thoi Ward, on Monday, the missing person was found, raising the total deaths to three, all of whom were relatives.
Thoi added that the two people sent to hospital have seen improvement.
