VinCommerce, the operator of thousands of VinMart-branded convenience stores and supermarkets across Vietnam, has temporarily closed 23 after many Covid-19 cases were found at their meat supplier.
According to VinCommerce, it has suspended the meat purchase from Thanh Nga Food Company in Hanoi’s Hai Ba Trung District in which more than 20 Covid-19 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Sunday.
Hanoi authorities have locked down Alley 651 on Minh Khai Street with around 300 households where the firm was located since 3 pm on Sunday.
Following the case, VinCommerce halted the operations of eight Vinmart supermarkets and 15 VinMart+ stores which are facing risk of Covid-19 infection. These facilities are situated in different districts in Hanoi.
VinCommerce staff were requested to make health declarations on Sunday evening.
VinCommerce denied that there was a list of hundreds of VinMart stores with staff having close contact with Covid-19 cases at Thanh Nga Food Company, calling the claim fake news.
