Under the Ministry of Health’s plan on increasing intensive care capacity in the treatment of Covid-19 patients, the 12 centres will be located in the northern, central and southern regions. Each centre has 200-3,000 sick beds.

Of the total, 1,000 beds will be placed at Bach Mai Hospital’s second branch in Ha Nam Province; 500 beds at the six hospitals including Viet Duc Hospital’s second branch in Ha Nam, Hanoi Medical University Hospital’s second branch, Hue Central Hospital, 108 Military Central Hospital and 103 Military Hospital each; 200 beds at Cho Ray Hospital, Lung Central Hospital and Can Tho Central General Hospital each and 300 beds at Ho Chi Minh City Medicine and Pharmacy University.
Up to 3,000 beds will be set up at HCM City’s field hospitals and Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital.
Bach Mai Hospital’s intensive care centres will provide the treatment for patients from northern localities and the central localities of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh. Hue Central Hospital’s centres will cover patients from localities from Quang Binh to Khanh Hoa provinces; while Cho Ray Hospital will serve patients from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau provinces.
