Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee Tran Huu The signed the decision on July 22. The social distancing will last for 15 days. As of now, Phu Yen has reported 1,000 cases and six fatalities.

People are asked to only go out when necessary. Groups of more than two people in public places have been banned and people are asked to maintain a two-metre distance.

The police were asked to help with maintaining order at the checkpoints, increase inspections and deal with violators.
