Vietnam recorded 314 new locally-infected Covid-19 cases as of 6 am on Thursday, according to the Ministry of Health.

All of the infections are from HCM City and Binh Duong Province with 234 and 80 cases respectively. Among those, 50 cases were detected outside quarantined and locked down areas in HCM City and are under epidemic investigations.

Vietnam has seen more local Covid-19 infections


As of 6 am on Thursday, Vietnam confirmed a total of 21,494 locally-transmitted Covid-19 patients and 1,891 others from abroad. Since April 27, the country has witnessed 19,924 ca cases.

Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Tuyen Quang, Son La, Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Dien Bien, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Nam Dinh, Quang Nam, Kien Giang and Lao Cai have experienced two weeks without detecting any new Covid-19 infections.

Until now, 8,557 patients have been discharged from hospital, while the country’s Covid-19 death toll has risen to 102.

At present, 259,428 people are put under quarantine in Vietnam, including 2,749 at hospitals and the others at homes or quarantine facilities.

The country has administered 3.96 million Covid vaccine shots, with 241,913 people having received two doses.
