The management board of Saigon High-tech Park in Thu Duc City on July 3 asked the Nidec Sankyo Company to temporarily suspend operations after several workers tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.

All the workers and staff at the company were asked not to leave their work place as local authorities carried out virus prevention measures.

The company has set up hundreds of thousands of tents at its parking area for the staff to stay during the quarantine period.

All the three floors of the parking lot have been used for quarantine activities.

Many tents have also been put up at various areas inside the company. Each tent is for two people.

Chairman of Thu Duc City People's Committee, Hoang Tung said that they have sent health workers to take samples of 3,000 staff at the company since July 2.

Nidec Sankyo is a Japanese company that specialises in producing high-tech products. It employs over 3,000 Vietnamese staff.

Head of the management board of Saigon High-tech Park, Tran Anh Thi, said that the Nidec Sankyo will be suspended between July 3-6.
