Both of them are from HCM City with underlying health conditions.
 

The 77th patient was a man from Binh Tan District who had been bed-ridden for four years due to a cerebrovascular accident. He also faced high blood pressure.

On June 20, he was taken to Trung Vuong Hospital after testing positive for Covid-19. He then suffered from respiratory failure and cerebral infarction which required intensive treatment and died on the same day.

The 78th case was a 54-year-old man from HCM City’s District 1. He had hypertension, diabetes (type II) and chronic kidney disease.

On June 15, the patient started facing breathing difficulties. On June 19, he tested positive for Covid-19. Five days after that, he was taken to Trung Vuong Hospital. However, his condition worsened later despite being provided with intensive treatment and died on June 26 due to progressive respiratory failure, septic shock, multi-organ failure caused by Covid-19.

To date, Vietnam has recorded 78 Covid-19 fatalities, including 43 since April 27 when the fourth Covid-19 wave hit the nation.
