According to the provincial Department of Transport, the rains which have occurred since Wednesday evening submerged National Highway 4D and many streets in Lai Chau City, causing traffic jams.

The rains have put lots of roads in Muong Te, Tam Duong and Tan Uyen districts under water. Local authorities had to install warning boats on dangerous road sections.
Between 1 am to 7 am this morning, June 24, the rainfall in Lai Chau was measured up to 100 mm and even 255 metres in Thu Lum area in Muong Te District.

Meanwhile, many roads in the province have also faced landslides, blocking traffic. Tam Duong, Tan Uyen, Muong Te, Sin Ho and Nam Nhun districts have been forecasted to face landslide risks the most.
The northern mountains would face rains until the end of Friday. Thunder and lightning have been predicted during the rains.
The hot weather will return to northern localities from June 26.
