The ministry today, June 23, sent an urgent dispatch to HCM City and Nam Dinh, Cao Bang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Dak Lak, Tien Giang, Lam Dong, Can Tho and Kien Giang on the issue.

The Covid-19 vaccination in Vietnam
According to the ministry, the ministry provided the HCM City Centre for Diseases Control and Prevention with 70,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccine on May 20. Local hospitals and units were also given 4,500 doses.
On June 17, the city’s CDC received an additional 786,000 doses and hospitals and agencies and units in the city received 10,370 doses.
However, to date, the city has only administered around 50,000 doses, representing a slow pace.
The same situation has also been reported in the nine highlighted localities with Covid-19 vaccination accounting for less than 40% of their total allocated vaccine doses.
The Ministry of Health has ordered these 10 localities to quicken the vaccination. In case where the situation does not improve, leaders of agencies and units will be held legally responsible for their action.
