In the letter, Anh said that last year Hanoi took drastic measures in fight against Covid-19.

This year, the pandemic has reoccurred with more complex and unpredictable developments, forcing the city to apply comprehensive measures to ensure the twin goals of fighting the virus and maintaining economic growth.

More than ever, the struggle against Covid-19 needs assistance from the entire political system, business community and people in Hanoi to start the local free vaccination campaign. This is expected to develop herd immunity for the city.

He hoped that organisations, businesses and residents of Hanoi would share the responsibility with the city through donations to purchase the Covid-19 vaccine.

To register for the donations, people can contact local Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees.

The city has planned to give free Covid-19 vaccinations to local people aged between 18 and 65 and not included in prioritised groups during the 2021-2022 period.
