Crowds flock to Hoi An beach, ignoring Covid-19 prevention regulations

On the late afternoon of Monday, An Bang Beach was crowded with a large number of people who came to relax amid the hot weather.

Hoi An’s authorities agreed to reopen local beaches following their closure due to a recent Covid-19 outbreak.

Most people did not wear a face mask or safely distance for Covid-19 prevention.

The number of people to the beach over the last weekend was 2-3 times higher than other days off the week.

Nguyen Thi Ha in Cam An Ward said that after May 25, lots of people flocked to An Bang Beach, particularly at the weekend. She worried that this would cause a reoccurrence of Covid-19. She expected people to pay more attention to Covid-19 prevention measures.
