On Sunday afternoon, hundreds of people came to the area in Nhat Tan Ward in Tay Ho District for picnics.
Most of the people are young people with many of them not wearing a face mask or ensuring the minimum safety distance of two metres.
Since May 11, Hanoi has banned the gatherings of more than 10 people, except for some places including schools, offices and hospitals. Meanwhile, all local parks have also been closed for Covid-19 prevention.
Areas by the Red River have attracted many people for relaxation at the weekends.
Despite the crowds, local authorities have done nothing to deal with it.
