This hospital, the second of its kind in the province, is located at the provincial gymnasium in Bac Giang City. It is scheduled to become operational on Saturday, raising the province’s total number of Covid-19 sick-beds to 2,500-2,700.
The setup of Bac Giang's second field hospital underway
Bac Giang's first field hospital is now home to 220 sick-beds. Meanwhile, the remaining beds for Covid-19 treatment are at other medical facilities including Bac Giang Lung Hospital, Bac Giang General Hospital and the medical centre of Yen Dung and Lang Giang districts.
The province has planned to arrange Covid-19 treatment beds at local military bases, the Hospital of Traditional Medicine and the Psychiatric Hospital.
Provincial authorities urged to ensure equipment and staff for the second hospital field operation. The hospital with 14 areas can mobilise staff from Bac Giang’s different medical facilities for the support.
By late Thursday, Bac Giang recorded 695 Covid-19 locally-infected cases with the majority from some local industrial parks.
