
Mazda recalls thousands of cars for fuel pump replacement
The first recall is for 36,285 Mazda 2, 3, 6 and Mazda CX-5 cars assembled in Vietnam from October 21, 2017, to December 28, 2018. The second recall includes 3,369 Mazda 2 imported from Thailand from June 4, 2018, to August 21, 2019. The final recall includes Mazda cars assembled in Vietnam from January 4, 2019, to December 30, 2019.
The Mazda cars were recalled because of fuel pump problems that could result in loss of engine power. There has been no reported accident with the cars. However, customers were advised to bring their cars to Mazda for free check and replacement.
The recall will last from May 17, 2021, to December 31, 2025.
Honda, Toyota and Mitsubishi have also had to recall their cars in Vietnam due to faulty fuel pumps which were all provided by Denso.
