However, on the morning of May 13, many markets in Hanoi were still crowded.
At an informal market on Nguyen Xuan Linh Street in Cau Giay District, people continued to shop after the authorities departed. When they reappeared, the market became deserted.

Fences are being set up on Hoang Mai Street in Hai Ba Trung District to prevent informal markets but trading continues.
The same situation has been seen on Trung Kinh Street.
