The meeting, which was chaired by the province's chairman, Le Duy Thanh, announced that they were carrying out Covid-19 testing on 2,845 samples and eight had come back positive on Tuesday.

On April 23, a group of five Chinese experts arrived in Vinh Phuc to work after completing a 14-day quarantine period in Yen Bai Province. The group stayed just one day in Vinh Phuc and then travelled to some other localities before returning to China where four of them have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2.
So far, 14 people in Vinh Phuc who had come into close contact with the five Chinese men have been infected with the virus.
At present, more than 5,500 people relating to these cases have been quarantined in the province.
According to the Central Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, three patients in Vinh Phuc have been confirmed to be carrying the B.1.617.2 strain of the virus from India.
