HCM City conducts contact tracing after new illegal border crossing case

According to HCM City CDC, one man and two women illegally crossed the border from Cambodia to Tay Ninh Province on April 21. They later caught a taxi to HCM City and took a flight from Tan Son Nhat Airport to Hanoi's Noi Bai Airport the same day.

After knowing that they were illegal border crossers, the taxi driver returned to Tan Bien Town to report and fill in the medical declaration form. Two women took a taxi from Noi Bai Airport to Thai Nguyen Province while the man headed to Bac Ninh Province.

The authorities immediately searched for the group and transferred them to quarantine centres after receiving the news. The initial test results came back negative.

The authorities in HCM City are carrying out contact tracing tasks to prevent an outbreak. They also asked families to persuade their members living overseas to not cross the border illegally.
