A 79-year-old woman from the central city of Danang who has been seen as the most serious Covid-19 patient in Vietnam has recovered.

The woman or Patient 1536 arrived in Danang from the US on January 13. One day later, she tested positive for Covid-19 and was sent to Danang Lung Diseases Hospital for treatment. She already has high blood pressure, diabetes and heart failure.

Patient 1536 has tested negative for Covid-19 nine times


Dr Le Thanh Phuc, director of the hospital, said that this is the most critical Covid-19 case in Vietnam so far. She has tested negative for the virus nine times.

According to Phuc, her health condition has dramatically improved without using a ventilator. Problems related to heart, liver and kidney have seen great improvement.

She was taken to Cho Ray Hospital in HCM City for the treatment of the underlying diseases.
