The northern province of Hai Duong, the country’s Covid-19 epicentre, has reported no new Covid-19 cases over the past six days.

On Wednesday, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control worked with Hai Duong authorities on the epidemic situation and the vaccination.
At the event, Nguyen Manh Cuong, director of the Hai Duong Provincial Department of Health, said that since January 27, the province has recorded 724 cases. Among those, 555 have recovered.
The province has witnessed no new Covid-19 patients over the past six days.
Cuong proposed stopping the social distancing implementation based on the government’s Directive 19 for Hai Duong after March 31 to turn into a new normal status.
The Ministry of Health has provided 33,000 doses of Covid-19 AstraZeneca vaccines for Hai Duong. By March 23, 17,797 doses were used, accounting for 53.8%.
Luu Van Ban, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, said that Covid-19 has been brought under control in Hai Duong. He also expected that the Ministry of Health will continue supporting the province in medical equipment as well as provide more Covid-19 vaccines for the locality.
Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen said that the province needs to learn experience about Covid-19 prevention and control over the past two months to prepare for the new situation. The locality also needs to continue applying Covid-19 prevention and control in the time to come.
