
Danang tightens grip on mobile karaoke noise pollution
Cao Dinh Hai, chairman of Nai Hien Dong Ward People's Committee, Son Tra District, confirmed that they had set up an 8-member team to patrol the streets and deal with noise pollution from karaoke services in Son Tra. From 9.30 pm to 10 pm, they will issue warnings to violators. After 10 pm, they will file reports and seize equipment such as loudspeakers.
"The team will receive complaints from the residents about noise pollution via our Facebook page and hotline," Hai said.
The team has dealt with dozens of cases and seized two loudspeakers. After two days, the situation has greatly improved.
Hoang Cong Thanh, deputy head of Son Tra District People's Committee, said, "The ward authorities have been asked to speed up the task to raise public awareness in March and April. Afterwards, we'll have detailed administrative fines for different violations. The Department of Justice will issue guidance."
Nguyen Minh Huy, vice chairman of Hai Chau District People's Committee, said they are also building a noise pollution prevention plan for Hai Chau District.
