Cao Van Dung, the homeroom teacher of Class 10A7, said, "Both of her parents and brother have died. She is now living with her old grandmother and disabled aunt. She often sells vegetables after school to earn more money. But she's a hard-working student. The school has waived some fees for her to help."
Hanh's grandmother, 81-year-old Pham Thi Cau said Hanh's mother died after giving birth to the second child. In 2010, Hanh's father also died in a traffic accident when she was only five years old. Unfortunately, Hanh's brother was in a traffic accident and died before Tet Holiday this year.
"It's so unfair," Hanh said, "It's heartbroken whenever I see other students with their parents and siblings. It's hard to live on."
Hanh's grandmother is too old and her 50-year-old aunt can't walk. In order to continue studying, Hanh helps grow and sell vegetables at the market. Their family has to depend on governmental allowances for old people and disabled people.
"I hope I will be able to take care of my grandmother and aunt. Sometimes, we didn't have any rice left and have to depend on neighbours’ kindness," she said.
