The 45-kilo turtle released into the sea

The turtle was handed over to Ham Luong Border Guard Station in Ba Tri District by Tran Thi Dien who bought it from a local fisherman.

The green sea turtle belongs to the Chelonia Mydas family which is listed in Vietnam’s Red Book of endangered species.

Earlier on March 5, Cuc Dai Border Station in Ben Tre also released a turtle into the wild. The turtle was originally caught by a local fisherman.
