The request was made by the Head of Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) Dinh Viet Thang.
Under the CAAV’s instructions, all staff in the Vietnamese aviation sector have to strictly conform to the country’s 5K message: Khẩu trang(facemask) – Khử khuẩn (disinfection) – Khoảng cách (distance) – Không tụ tập (no gathering) – Khai báo y tế (health declaration) for Covid-19 prevention and control.
Airlines also have to instruct passengers for their health declarations when buying tickets online through the websites or via the Ministry of Health’s application Vietnam Health Declaration available at https://tokhaiyte.vn/.

Thang ordered local airlines not to transport people who do not make their health declarations as well as violate other epidemic preventive measures.
All staff in the aviation sector have to install the Covid-19 tracing application named Bluezone on their smartphones.
Passengers have to ensure a safe distance at airports and on buses operating at airports.
Aviation staff who often contact passengers need to be provided with face shields and given with Covid-19 tests frequently.
Crew members on flights that carry passengers from abroad into Vietnam must be quarantined upon arrival landing in Vietnam.
Foreign airlines which operate at Vietnamese airlines also have to obey these regulations.
Covid-19 testing will be randomly conducted on national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines’ passengers aboard flights from Hanoi, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong to Tan Son Nhat International Airport by the local health sector as large numbers are returning to the city after the Tet (Lunar New Year) holidays from February 17.
