The incident happened on the Northern Endeavour (Tuvalu) when it was offshore of Ba Ria-Vung Tau on February 1. The 31-year-old man had a fever and great pain in his stomach.
The patient was then transported to Tan Son Nhat International Airport by a helicopter and then taken to FV Hospital in HCM City for treatment.
The captain immediately called for help from Vietnamese authorities.
