More Covid-19 patients found in Vietnam
By 6 am this morning, Vietnam recorded a total number of 1,891 Covid-19 cases, including 1,003 community transmission cases. Since January 27, the country has seen up to 310 new cases.
According to Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, the outbreak related to Van Don International Airport in Quang Ninh and POYUN Ltd. Co. in Hai Duong have been gradually controlled.
By the end of today, Hanoi will have finished providing Covid-19 tests for all local residents who returned home from Covid-19-affected areas from January 15, Dam noted.
Meanwhile, at a meeting with Hanoi authorities on Covid-19 prevention and control measures on Tuesday, Minister of Health Nguyen Thanh Long said that Hanoi needed to take more drastic measures in the fight against the current Covid-19 wave.
The minister urged Hanoi to set up task forces for a quick Covid-19 test in vulnerable areas. In necessary cases, the Ministry of Health will mobilise medical students for support.
