People usually flock to Hang Luoc Flower in the run up to Tet, but it was different last Sunday.

Peach flowers and kumquat are on sale from Hanoi’s wards such as Ngoc Ha, Tu Lien, Nghi Tam and Nhat Tan.

The market opens once a year for Tet and ends on the last day of the 12th lunar month of the year.

The same situation is seen at Hang Ma Street which specialises in selling goods for traditional holidays, including the Tet Holiday.

An antique stall

Dozens of souvenirs and calligraphy stalls at the Phung Hung Mural Street which is near Hang Luoc Flower Market have failed to attract customers.
Covid-19 has continued spreading to many localities in Vietnam, including Hanoi. Since the outbreak in the northern province of Hai Duong last week Hanoi has recorded 19 locally-infected cases.
