Following the sharp rise in new Covid-19 locally-infected cases in Vietnam over the past three days, security measures have been tightening control over the 13th Party Congress which is being held at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi.

Earlier, around 500 reporters, editors and technicians of press agencies had to undergo Covid-19 tests twice. The Press Centre of the 13th National Party Congress only issued permits to those who had negative Covid-19 test results.
The highly-accurate real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) method is used for the tests.
