Ben Cat Commune People's Committee confirmed that they had blocked a residential rental area in Dong Soi Hamlet, An Tay Commune on January 22 to contact tracing among all the residents there.

On January 21, the authorities received news that three Vietnamese had illegally crossed the border into Vietnam and had entered the area. They were tested and transferred to quarantine centres.

On January 15, the local authorities also found a Vietnamese from Tan Binh Ward, Di An City, had illegally crossed the border. Di An Medical Centre worked with the police in Tan Binh Ward to take the family to the quarantine centre and take samples for tests. The results from Pasteur Institute in HCM City came back negative.

After knowing about the illegal border crossing cases, the Department of Health quickly informed all local departments of health in the province.

Previously, Binh Duong authorities detected four illegal border crossing cases. One was from Thu Dau Mot City and three others were from Thuan An City. Two of them came in contact with Patient 1440. Their test results were negative.
