The city serves 118,451 visitors during the three-day New Year Holiday, pulling in the revenues of VND302 billion (USD13.13 million). Despite representing an on-year sharp fall, the figures anyway are a good sign for the city’s tourism industry after Covid-19 has been basically brought.

On the New Year occasion, hotels in Hanoi cut room prices by 25-45% and offered attractive vouchers for their food services.

The Temple of Literature, Thang Long Citadel, Thu Le Zoo and Duong Lam Ancient Village are among the places luring visitors the most during the New Year Holiday.

This year, Hanoi expects to welcome 13.16-19.04 million visitors, including 10.96-15.34 million domestic ones, up 50-70% on-year.

Hanoi authorities have decided to recognise three new tourist sites in the city’s outlying districts. The spots are Ha Thai lacquer village in Thuong Tin District and Ha Mo area and the Phoenix Garden in Dan Phuong District.

18 hotels in the city have been used to quarantine people entering Vietnam from abroad for Covid-19 prevention.
