Authorities in the southern province of Kien Giang have seized dozens of kilos of drugs that were left on local sea.

On December 24, officials in Kien Hai District announced that local fishermen had found 11 kilos of drugs which were drifting in local waters.
According to the officials, while fishing at 4pm on December 22, some fishermen in An Son Commune found dozens of yellow packages with Chinese letters on them. The fishermen reported and brought the packages, weighing 1 kilo each, to local police.
Initial investigations by local authorities found that the packages contained drugs in them.
Fishermen in Tho Chau Commune also found 37 kilos of drugs twice previously floating at sea.
The incident is under investigation.
