The incident occurred in Van Hoang Commune’s Van Trai Thuong Village in the outlying district of Phu Xuyen at around 2:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
The scene of the explosion
Do Ngoc Dang, chairman of Van Hoang Commune, people in Van Trai Thuong Village heard the explosion and then a local house burst into flames.
After the fire was put out, authorities found two women dead at the scene, while a man had been seriously injured.
The injured and dead included a husband aged 53 and his wife aged 48.
The other woman found dead was the couple’s relative.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.
