On Tuesday evening, the Noi Bai International Airport’s Security Centre received information about the loss of a Chanel-branded perfume bottle on the HCM City-Hanoi flight by a female passenger. The perfume bottle was contained in her luggage.

The centre then conducted checks on all related entries and exits. Later, the security forces detected a perfume bottle which was similar to the passenger’s in a male luggage handler’s bag.
The luggage handler admitted stealing the perfume to bring home to use. He was handed over to the airport police for being penalised.
Vietnamese airport staff have been caught stealing passenger luggage several times previously. Violators were fined or some were even fired.
