Hoi family receives the donation.
Hoi and his wife, Dinh Thi Chien, have two children together and work hard to support their family. On September 16, Hoi suddenly lost consciousness while working in a field. Chien borrowed VND10m from neighbours to bring him to Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi. The money ran out immediately.
Chien said she felt scared after hearing that her husband's treatment would cost at least VND300m (USD13,043). She said, "We sold our buffaloes, pigs, dog and rice and borrowed VND100m from anywhere we could. We have nothing left. I'm at loss."

Dr Tran Ba Hieu said, "If Hoi doesn't have surgery, he may die. He has aortic aneurysm, hypertension and complications that affect the chest and brain. This is a hard case. The only solution is to use stent graft to support the weak spot in his artery. He can still be saved now. If he isn't treated soon, the situation may worsen."Tran Khanh, deputy director of SHB, said, "After reading about Hoi's case, we called and today, we want to transfer the donation to help him overcome this hard time. We hope he will recover soon."
On October 13, Dantri representative also transferred VND50,044,000 (USD2,200) from readers to Hoi's family. Chien said she was moved and thanked everyone that supported them.
Nguyen Thi Ha from the Social Work Office of Bach Mai Hospital said, "We really appreciate the support from Dantri readers and SHB. This financial support is also a precious spiritual encouragement."
