Over 240 Vietnamese citizens from Singapore were brought home on December 7.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the flight was arranged by authorities of the two countries and Pacific Airlines.

Staff at the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore were sent to the airport to help the citizens with necessary procedures for the flights.

Passengers include children aged under 18, people with illness, and those in extremely difficult circumstances.

After landing at the airport, all passengers and crew members of the flights were given health check-ups and sent to quarantine areas for 14 days following the government's regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.

The same day, nearly 360 other Vietnamese citizens were also brought home safely from the US on a national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines’ flight.

To date, over 210 repatriation flights have been arranged by Vietnamese authorities to help nearly 60,000 local people stranded abroad due to Covid-19 return home, the ministry said, adding that more such flights are set to be conducted in the coming time.
