On Sunday afternoon, when Nguyen Dinh Ngoc in Tan Hop Commune, Huong Hoa District, was driving a motorbike to Huong Lap Commune, a lungur suddenly jumped out and rushed into him from behind.

The man has been injured in his leg due to the langur's attack .
He tried to speed up, but the animal caught up with him and bit him on the right leg.
Ngoc then had to stop his motorbike and used stones to threaten the langur so he could drive it away.
Ngoc’s leg wound needed to be sutured with eight stitches.
Nguyen Hong Phuong, deputy director of Quang Tri Province’s Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that local authorities decided to build a net of 2-3 metres high for fencing a 1.2-km section on Ho Chi Minh Road which runs through Huong Lap Commune to prevent langurs from attacking people. However, the fence has not been able not stop the langurs.
Phuong added that he contacted the management board of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park to co-operate to deal with the problem.
In October, three stray langurs also attacked nine passers-by on the Ho Chi Minh Road section in Huong Lap Commune, leaving them with severe injuries.
