The area is being isolated by the flood water.

Nguyen Van Nhuan, Chairman of Khanh Son District People’s Committee, said that on Monday, local authorities sent a rescue team to help the travellers. But the rescue force is facing difficulties due to the high-water level of a stream which is some 1.5-hours walk from the area where the tourists are in.

He has asked the provincial authorities to arrange another rescue mission to get access to the area from the direction of Khanh Vinh District.

Due to the bad weather, the travellers’ mobile phones have lost signal, so they could not contact their relatives.

However, according to some local residents, the visitors are safe and sheltering at a cow farm on the mountain.

Over the past four days, the southern central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam has been lashed by heavy rains, isolating many localities.
