According to Tran Quang Nang, head of the weather forecasting department at the centre, the north would see the highest temperatures of 27-30 degrees centigrade this weekend, with fog at night and early morning and no rain.
The northern region of Vietnam would face another cold early next week.
However, on November 23-24, a cold snap was predicted for the region and this would expand to the central region two days later, Nang added.
During this time, northern localities would have light rain and the temperature would fall to 16 degrees centigrade. Meanwhile, the temperature in some mountainous areas would decrease to less than 10 degrees centigrade.
The northern region of Vietnam would experience cold snaps with the temperatures much lower than usual, particularly in December. This is due to the impact of La Niña which will make the sea surface temperature across the equatorial Eastern Central Pacific Ocean to be lower than normal by 3 to 5 °C in the last months of the year.
