According to the National Committee for Disaster Response and Search and Rescue, at around 5 pm on November 12, five men in Lung in Vu Nong Commune, Nguyen Binh District used ropes to go into a 150-metre-deep local cave to look for gold.
However, Trieu Kim Chin, 25, unluckily slipped and fell into the cave. He remains missing.
Cao Bang authorities have asked the National Committee for Disaster Response and Search and Rescue for the support to search the victim.
Despite great efforts, the deep, narrow and sloping cave has posed difficulties for the rescue team, while the cave’s oxygen is low, at only 14%.
