On Monday, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines operated two flights, carrying over 240 Vietnamese citizens from Taiwan to return home.
Budget airline VietJet Air also conducted a repatriation flight for nearly 240 other passengers from South Korea on the same day.Passengers on board were children aged below 18, workers with expired visas or labour contracts, the elderly, the sick, students who had completed training but lack accommodation because of shut dormitories and others facing special circumstances.
Strict Covid-19 prevention regulations were imposed on the flights.
After arrival at Danang International Airport and Cam Ranh Airport in the central region, the whole crew members were medically monitored and sent to quarantine areas for Covid-19 prevention.
On November 15, over 340 Vietnamese citizens from Taiwan (China) were also brought home by Vietnam Airlines.
According to the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines, VietJet, Pacific Airlines and Bamboo Airways will run 54 other repatriation flights for Vietnamese citizens abroad hit by Covid-19.
Passengers are advised to regularly check information about flight schedules, with information being released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Aviation Administration, and the various domestic airlines.
