National flag carrier Vietnam Airlines have cancelled flights VN1624/1625, VN1396/1397 and VN1464/1465 to and from Phu Cat Airport in Binh Dinh and Chu Lai Airport in Quang Nam.
Many flights cancelled due to Storm Goni
Vietnam Airlines has operated seven flights from HCM City to Tuy Hoa Airport in Phu Yen, Chu Lai Airport and Phu Cat Airport between one and seven hours earlier than scheduled.
Budget airline Vietjet has also cancelled flights to and from Chu Lai and Phu Cat airports, comprising VJ372/377 on HCM City-Chu Lai route, VJ415/416 on Hanoi-Chu Lai and VJ382/383 on HCM City-Phu Cat.
Passengers of cancelled flights will be transferred to other flights after the weather improves.
Passengers who have planned to go to and from areas which would be affected by the storm need to frequently update flight schedules from airlines.
Meanwhile, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam have announced to temporarily close a runway at Phu Cat International Airport in Binh Dinh Province until 6 am on November 10 to ensure safety when Storm Goni approaches.
Storm Goni is forecasted to weaken into a tropical depression before making landfall over the southern central region between Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa provinces on Friday.
The typhoon would bring torrential rains for the central and southern central region of Vietnam which have been lashed severely by storms and floods.
