Thu Duc City expected to link to HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Highway

The Department of Transport has consulted HCM City People's Committee to propose to the Ministry of Transport to build access ramps to connect Thu Duc City with the HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway.

In order to realise the plan, the authorities will actually build access ramps to connect Long Phuong Street in District 9 to HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway that leads to HCM City's centre. They also proposed to build a junction under Long Thanh Overpass to better connect Long Phuoc with other highways.

HCM City authorities hoped that the Ministry of Transport will update the design of the access ramps and junction into the on-going HCM City-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expansion plan.

According to the HCM City Department of Transport, it will help boost the smart urban areas in the eastern area of HCM City. Long Phuoc Ward will have universities, National Defence Sports Centre 5, HCM City Conservatory of Music and the Science and Technology Park. This shows the important role of Long Phuoc in the development of smart urban areas. However, quick development also means huge pressure on traffic infrastructure.

With the access ramps, drivers would only have travel 18km instead of the old route which is 23km.
