According to the National Centre for Hydrometeorology Forecasting, at around 4 am this morning, November 4, the storm was at roughly 320 km from the southeast of the Paracel Archipelago, with the strongest wind power near its eye of between 60-75 kilometre per hour.
In the next 24 hours, the storm would move west-southwest at the speed of 10 kilometre per hour.
At 4am on November 5, it would be 230 kilometres from the coast between Quang Ngai and Khanh Hoa provinces, with the wind power of 60-90 kilometres per hour.
Over the 24 to 48 hours to come, it is forecasted to travel southwest at a speed of about 10 kilometres per hour, then weaken into a tropical depression to affect provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa.
The centre forecasted that the provinces of Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Binh Dinh would see heavy rains from the evening of November 4 until November 6, with rainfall of between 250-350mm.
Torrential rains will also be seen in other southern central provinces of Thua Thien-Hue, Danang, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, and Phu Yen with total rainfall of between 100-200mm.
