Japanese authorities have announced that the South Korean expert who recently arrived in the country from Vietnam does not have coronavirus following the RT-PCR testing results.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City's Centre for Diseases Control (CDC), they were informed by Japanese authorities that the man tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 through RT-PCR testing carried out on October 30.

A report from Ho Chi Minh City's CDC said that the man is an expert of a Japanese firm which has a representative office in Hanoi. He entered Vietnam on July 29 and was quarantined in Hanoi. During the stay in Vietnam, he did not have contact with any Covid-19 cases.

On October 24, he left Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City for Japan and tested positive for Covid-19 through quick testing at Narita International Airport.

"The man is now being quarantined in Japan to wait for the second RT-PCR testing," the centre said.
