On October 30, Ho Dac Chuong, head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue in Binh Dinh confirmed the news.

At 6 pm on October 29, the captain of the M/V Fortune Iris contacted the Nha Trang Coastal Radio Station to inform that they had rescued three fishermen from boat BD 97469. The health of the fishermen has stabilised after days at sea.

One of the fishermen, Le Minh Don, said out of 14 members, two died immediately when the boat sank, five died of exhaustion while floating on the sea and four are still missing.

According to Chuong, Vietnamese authorities worked with the M/V Fortune Iris to receive the fishermen.

On October 27, the boat BD97469 led by Vo Ngoc Do from Hoai Hai Commune sank while seeking shelter from Storm Molave. At that time, it was 172 nautical miles away from Nha Trang City with 14 fishermen.

On the same day, the boat BD96388 led by Nguyen Van Minh from Hoai Nhon Commune, Binh Dinh Province, also sank while seeking shelter. 12 fishermen went missing.

Search and rescue mission has been carried out to search for the missing fishermen.
